Relax, hike, fish, swim and/or boat to your hearts content. Sit on the porch and watch the deer feeding and various birds looking for food. A great place for a women's retreat, family vacation or family reunion or your own private retreat.

There is plenty of parking for your vehicle and trailer and local boat ramps make water recreation easy here at Lock Mountain Lodge.
Lake o' the Pines is an 18,700 acre lake with some great fish for the catching. There are several parks, marinas, boat launch ramps, convenience stores, and cafes. Recreation opportunities are numerous with camping, boating, fishing, hunting, watchable wildlife, and bird watching, including wintering bald eagles.
Only 20 minutes from Jefferson, TX where antique shopping is the best. Twenty minutes from Lone Star, TX where Bluegrass Music is played several times a year. Twenty minutes from Avinger, TX where the best steaks around are found at Five-D Steak House.
Other local attractions include antique shopping, Mardi Gras Upriver, the Annual Historic Pilgrimage, and Christmas Candlelight Tour in Jefferson, TX. Local attractions also include Stagecoach days, a Fire Ant Festival and Christmas lights in Marshall, TX, along with Texas Wildflower Trail routes along some area roads.
